Rep. Devin Nunes announced last week during a press conference that he had proof that Trump’s transition team was in fact under surveillance by the intelligence community.
However, at this point, Rep Devin Nunes probably just wishes that he kept his big mouth shut! Because now things are about to get a lot worse for him.
So much for “never” revealing your sources, Nunes. Remember when Rep Devin Nunes swore that he would never reveal his sources? Well, it looks like the cat is out of the bag now.
In fact, according to The New York Times, two White House officials: Ezra Cohen-Watnick of the National Security Council and Michael Ellis, a national security lawyer employed by the White House Counsel’s Office, assisted Nunes in getting the information.
However, it is unclear their exact roles in the process.

One committee member, Rep Elijah Cummings stated about Nunes, ‘Basically what he has done is he has scuttled and put a cloud over his own investigation and he has become the subject — he should be — of an investigation. It’s a real problem.’
‘Basically what he has done is he has scuttled and put a cloud over his own investigation and he has become the subject — he should be — of an investigation. It’s a real problem. What he did was basically to go to the President, who is being investigated by the FBI and others and by the intelligence committee, to give them information.’
