President Trump seems to be attacking everything great that President Obama did for the country. From repealing ObamaCare to Michelle Obama’s initiates, Trump just seems to be making America worse again.
Now, Trump is going after state marijuana laws. States like Colorado and California have already made billions off the tax revenue from the sales of marijuana, but Trump want’s to put a stop to that.
According to The Hill, Trump released a statement suggesting that said some of the provisions of the bill could interfere with his constitutional authority, arguing that he isn’t legally bound to limits imposed by Congress like the Justice Department from interfering with state medical marijuana laws, for example.
“Division B, section 537 provides that the Department of Justice may not use any funds to prevent implementation of medical marijuana laws by various States and territories. I will treat this provision consistently with my constitutional responsibility,” Trump’s statement reads.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions is a well-known opponent of the idea of legalizing marijuana. Sessions recently said in an interview, “Marijuana is against federal law, and that applies in states where they may have repealed their own anti-marijuana laws, So yes, we will enforce law in an appropriate way nationwide.”
However, nobody thought that Trump would find it necessary to crack down on state laws from a federal standpoint. But that day has finally come. At one point it seemed hopeful. However, it remains clear that President Trump just wants to ruin everything good about America.
According to Gallup, 60% of Americans support the legalization of marijuana. Do you?
