During the course of the 2016 Presidential campaign, right-wing propaganda mill Fox News was conspicuously divided when it came to the crazy outsider campaign of Donald Trump.
Some Fox News hosts like Megyn Kelly seemed deeply wary of the former reality TV star, while others like Sean Hannity and Neil Cavuto threw their weight behind Trump, particularly after Trump won the nomination. However, Trump just said something so outlandish and terrifying recently about America’s nuclear program that even Cavuto clearly had second thoughts.
In one of his now-patented, categorically un-Presidential unhinged, unfiltered tweets, President-Elect Trump recently wrote, “United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time that the world comes to its senses regarding nukes.” Needless to say, this did not sit well with many people anywhere, and Republican-backing Fox News was no exception. Commentator Neil Cavuto went off-script in an unbelievable way. Cavuto was on Stuart Varney’s program on Fox Business when they announced Trump’s controversial tweet.
Responded Cavuto to the tweet, “I’m thinking this out. Let’s say we get to Dow 20,000 so we’re all richer for it. But Donald Trump also promises more nukes so we’re all blown up just as we’re counting our money.” Varney couldn’t believe his ears and answered, “What? Have you become some kind of leftist all of the sudden?” Answered Neil, “No, I’m just worried. You don’t seem to be.” Responded Varney, “Get out of here.” Stated Cavuto, “I am thinking about that. That would be something. We hit Dow 20,000… ka-boom.” What do you think about this unsettling clip?
